Okay so this is got to be the last time I start a weight loss blog, I'm sure that I haven't enough fingers and toes to count the times I have started one. I guess this makes you wonder whether I will keep this one up! Well the answer to your question is YES! I am fully committed!
So why didn't I stick to it before? Well it's like this, I was making the wrong choices and silly mistakes because I wasn't fully informed and because I am a very stubborn person and sometimes even though I know that people are trying to help and that their ideas are valid, I get too pigheaded to listen! did I really say that??? Yes I did, because that has been step one in my new process and that's to give in, to stop being hard headed and Germanic about everything, put my guard down and be vulnerable.
So how did this all come about? Actually it was Christmas, a gift my daughter gave me. My beautiful girl Havana, (with the most amazing figure), bought me Jillian Michael's book Winning by Losing: Drop the Weight, Change Your Life
This book is really motivating and fantastic because she explains about emotional eating which is my biggest flaw, she also talks about metabolism and then there is a huge section on fitness with pictures of different exercises which are fantastic and she also includes some recipes which even include chocolate chip cookies!!!
Yesterday I ate the last of my crappy food and today I am very excited about going grocery shopping to get fresh veges and fruit, lean meats, wholegrain items and low fat dairy! things I usually buy anyway only this time the amount of processed foods will be an absolute minimum saving me money and additional weight gain!
I was watching the movie Armageddon the other night and couldn't help but think that this movie relates to what I have to do but instead of saving the world, I am saving my life! Bruce Willis and co had a huge task to achieve to kill off the giant asteroid just like how I have a huge task of killing off fat cells to save my life, and as usual at the end of that movie, I cried!
I would love to lose 100lbs in 1 year, that is the general goal however, I am not going to put pressure on myself to make that the be all and end all, it's basically a guideline.
So are you going to join me on my journey, the highs and lows and everything in between?
As well as this blog I also have a food blog called Naked Food Chef which is a blog of my favorite healthy recipes.
