Well the month has gone fantastic, January saw me losing a whopping 11.2lbs!!!! totally crazy, I am so amazed but I can tell you now, I DESERVED that loss, I have worked my ass off like you would not believe!

My gym sessions are 6 days a week for 2hrs a time, yes 2 hours! talk about sweat, sweat, sweat! the best thing is that I feel so fantastic afterwards and this spurs me on to keep carrying on, in fact on my day off, I feel guilty for not going to the gym!

Not much else to write in this post, I guess kinda boring so here's my latest update video to explain how it's all gone!

Weigh In Day!

Okay so today is weigh in day and thank goodness I have GREAT news!!!! I lost 4lbs this week!!! I am very excited however, I know I should've lost more because I didn't work out as much as I should've but hey 4lbs is great! Now having lost that weight, I am motivated and energized to keep going!

Today I went to the gym for my biggest loser type gruelling workout I designed myself which is as follows:

10 mins - fat burn setting on the treadmill
20 mins - random hill/flat setting on the treadmill (this was killer)
15 mins - cycle interval training with rpm level of 96-100 (total killer!)
40 mins - weight training legs and arms
10 mins - loads of stretching

all in all I burned around 700 cals! yipee!! so fantastic and now I feel like I could sleep for an hour I am exhausted but uplifted because I managed to do it. I was drenched in sweat when I left the gym, fab!

Update video to come, I shall post it here once uploaded!

Weigh In Day Tomorrow....scared!

So tomorrow is my weigh in and I am a little nervous, why? well I could've done a lot more workouts than I did, however, I have been reading my Jillian Michaels book and learning about workouts how much, what works, a bit more about nutrition, carbs etc. Anyway, tomorrow I am working out at the gym for 1 1/2hrs and am looking forward to it.

Yesterday I power walked 7k's and burned around 600 calories! which is fantastic! My legs are totally dead today though, esepcially since after the walk I did lunges, squats and loads of stretching! I feel great though, so energized!

Well I guess all I can say is..... roll on weigh in!

The Power of Colonic Massage!

Yesterday I watched a programme on tv which was about an obese man and an underweight woman swapping diets for a week. The obese guy ate whatever the underweight woman normally eats and vice versa, quite interesting. Anyway, the programme has them two as the main theme and then has other items to do with weight loss in the show and one of the items that I saw was about Colonic Massage.

Colonic massage is when you massage your colon to move faecal matter down your colon and then out your rectum. At first I thought, oh whatever, but then tonight I had a terrible case of gas and thought, maybe I would try the massage technique and low and behold, 10mins later out pops the gas! instant relief!

So if you are feeling very full down below and haven't been to the loo for number two in a while, then I suggest you try and the colonic massage. There are some great videos on You Tube which explain exactly how to do it, so give it shot!

Christmas Presents! weight loss tools I received!

Christmas was good and bad, bad because I ate uncontrollably again, thank goodness that is over and I'm doing fine now and the good part is that I received two fantastic tools to help with my weight loss!

Every year I buy myself a gift for my hard work throughout the year running a house of five, two teens, a toddler and of course hubby, school runs, sports runs, cooking, cleaning, the list goes on and on, so of course I deserve to treat myself! My daughter was going away with her friends for New Year to Great Barrier Island and I felt sorry for her because she didn't have an MP3. Every time she goes away she borrows mine and I thought to myself, wouldn't it be nice if I gave her my MP3 and this year for my gift to myself, I'd buy me a new one therefore, we both get a gift. So I ran this by her and she was very excited as she loves my old MP3 (1 yr old) because it can also record your voice and the radio, and it's a cool red color and a Sony! So Christmas Eve we went to our local electronics store and she showed me the new Sony MP3's and I got an orange one! It's totally cute, has fabulous bass and so tiny that I don't have to carry around a bulky thing especially when on the treadmill and cycle! So Christmas Day I gave it to her among her other gifts and I opened my gift to myself, I absolutely love it and her and I swap songs, totally cool!!

The other fantastic gift I received was a book from my daughter, Jillian Michael's Winning by Losing: Drop the Weight, Change your Life, and all I can say about this book is that it is FANTASTIC! There is a lot of information that hit home with me and I feel so much more relaxed on this journey. This is the best weight loss book I have read yet, everything is explained to make it easy to understand, the methods and techiniques are fabulous and there is a huge section on exercise with pictures because as we all know, there is no way you are going to lose weight and keep it off without being active!

So as I go on my way to a new body, better health and longevity, I am relaxed and eager to stay on with it, I have learned about calories BMR, AMR yep the works and for the first time, it all makes sense!

If you haven't embarked on your journey, get moving, you'll feel better for it!

Day 2: Food Diary & Fitness

Today is the second day of my weight loss challenge and I am amazed! no, I am SHOCKED!!!

Yesterday I weighed myself and I was 316.2lbs and today, I am 313.6lbs! WOW! While this is probably water weight, I did cut down on my calories to my required daily amount of 2365 cal andlook at what happened! It surprises me because I didn't feel hungry all day, I felt fabulous and although I did snack at night with low fat cereal, I still lost weight, but again, probably water weight BUT what a great start and a good motivator!

Last night I spent an hour and a half updating my profile on Sparkpeople and loading on my food and fitness diaries. It's quite annoying that it takes ages to load the food diary but the best thing is that you can copy the meals to each day of the week and then change items that you didn't eat and insert any extras that you did, plus keep track of your water content, fabulous!

I have found a new trick to control my eating before  a meal. I grab a huge glass of water, drink half of it 10 minutes before I eat and then drink the rest of it while I am having the meal. This controls my appetite and I feel fuller for longer!

FITNESS DIARY

...and that is how today is shaping up!

I will make an effort to keep updating this blog as much as I can, however, the above food and fitness diary is pretty much what I am doing most of the time with dinners & exercise changing daily.

On this blog will also be my update videos from youtube on my Burndafat channel, so stay tuned for more to come!

One Year Weight Loss Challenge!

Okay so this is got to be the last time I start a weight loss blog, I'm sure that I haven't enough fingers and toes to count the times I have started one. I guess this makes you wonder whether I will keep this one up! Well the answer to your question is YES! I am fully committed!

So why didn't I stick to it before? Well it's like this, I was making the wrong choices and silly mistakes because I wasn't fully informed and because I am a very stubborn person and sometimes even though I know that people are trying to help and that their ideas are valid, I get too pigheaded to listen! did I really say that??? Yes I did, because that has been step one in my new process and that's to give in, to stop being hard headed and Germanic about everything, put my guard down and be vulnerable.

So how did this all come about? Actually it was Christmas, a gift my daughter gave me. My beautiful girl Havana, (with the most amazing figure), bought me Jillian Michael's book Winning by Losing: Drop the Weight, Change Your Life

This book is really motivating and fantastic because she explains about emotional eating which is my biggest flaw, she also talks about metabolism and then there is a huge section on fitness with pictures of different exercises which are fantastic and she also includes some recipes which even include chocolate chip cookies!!!

Yesterday I ate the last of my crappy food and today I am very excited about going grocery shopping to get fresh veges and fruit, lean meats, wholegrain items and low fat dairy! things I usually buy anyway only this time the amount of processed foods will be an absolute minimum saving me money and additional weight gain!

I was watching the movie Armageddon the other night and couldn't help but think that this movie relates to what I have to do but instead of saving the world, I am saving my life! Bruce Willis and co had a huge task to achieve to kill off the giant asteroid just like how I have a huge task of killing off fat cells to save my life, and as usual at the end of that movie, I cried!

I would love to lose 100lbs in 1 year, that is the general goal however, I am not going to put pressure on myself to make that the be all and end all, it's basically a guideline.

So are you going to join me on my journey, the highs and lows and everything in between?

As well as this blog I also have a food blog called Naked Food Chef which is a blog of my favorite healthy recipes.
